On September 19, 2009, Ellen attended a rally against the HST (Harmonized Sales Tax), at the Trade and Convention Centre in Vancouver with, among others, former Premier Bill Vander Zalm and NDP leader Carole James.
She rode her bicycle to the rally, and met and talked with many of the people in attendance.
